The WSETF Administrative Committee has made some changes to hopefully better communicate information and to get information to us. The WSETF-AC has not physical offices so contact is only possible via email or the new website. Our new website to allow us to publish more regular updates while maintaining all of the information you need about the scholarship program, our operations, and information about us. We have also created a new email that will hopefully enhance our ability to communicate (we have experienced a lot of issues with our current mail system).

Our new website has also a simpler address to remember – wsetf.org – and we also made the email address a bit easier to manage – wsetf.scholarships@gmail.com.

The Western Shoshone Educational Trust Fund was established via the Public Law 108-270 with the mission of distribution of educational assistance for the Western Shoshone People who were eligible for the Western Shoshone Claims Judgment Roll, and/or individuals who prove to be lineal descendant of an individual appearing on the said judgment roll, and who satisfies all eligibility criteria established by the committee.

Scholarship Deadlines

  • Spring Semester – JANUARY 15th
  • Fall Semester – JUNE 15th

Students must be enrolled on a full-time basis and must be maintaining a 2.0 term GPA. We only offer scholarships for one undergraduate/vocational degree and we do not fund graduate or higher level degrees.

This award is designed to supplement your college funding.  On this website there are listings of other funding sources. Contact your school’s financial aid office to find out about “in-house” funding that you would be eligible for.  Additionally, it is always a good idea to check for tuition breaks for Native American students.  We wish you the best in your academic endeavors!
